I’ve listened to the first chapter of ‘Conversations With God’ (the audiobook) and..
WOW. I can’t say anything more than that. Imagine me, running around in a butterfly suit, shouting WOW with glee, then falling down on the grass next to a flowerbed, taking in all life’s beauty with every breath. That’s the closest you’ll get to how I feel about it.
I would listen to more of it, but my mp3 player’s batteries just went dead (¬_¬)
It’s a very.. goosebumpsy book, if I’m honest. I know “goosebumpsy” isn’t a word, but words don’t mean a lot unless there’s a feeling attached to them.
Besides, who decided “goosebumpsy” isn’t a word? My laptop tells me it’s misspelled by putting a little red wiggly line underneath it. It’s not in any dictionary. Yet I typed it out, and it MAKES SENSE! So therefor, it must be a word. It consists of letters which form a whole that makes sense.
Like the universe. The story of the universe makes perfect sense, if you’re willing to read between the lines. If you’re willing to embrace “different” words, like goosebumpsy, instead of dismissing them as “wrong”. Just because it’s new, and you don’t understand it, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Scientists have known this for ages, why haven’t we?
In science, when they discover something new, they try to understand it, learn from it. What makes us, the spiritual and most importantly GOD so different!? Why are we afraid of what we don’t understand?
We have been taught not to question god, but seriously, how BORED must god be by now??
If you and I are not kept busy, we get bored and that’s not a very nice feeling. The same goes for god, if not kept busy, god will cease to exist. Yes, that IS a problem. Not because religion would cease to exist, but because it would mean mankind is at the end of its evolution. If we want to evolve spiritually AND materialistically, we nééd to take a moment to listen to what god has to say. We all have that energy we call ‘god’ inside of us! It’s not that hard to just stop, sit down and listen to it. Write down what you’re asking, and maybe you’ll be writing the answers before you know it (like Neale Donald Walsch, and ME! I’ve started typing this answer all by myself, too, after I asked the question)
And by all means, ASK QUESTIONS!! If a child doesn’t ask questions, it will never learn anything. Our god-energy is there for a reason! GOD IS THERE FOR A REASON!! And god never asked for crusades, sacrifices of the flesh and animals..
And as for the bible, don’t get me started. I’ll just say it’s a BOOK, made of WORDS, written by MEN who INTERPRETED what they felt. It’s an INTERPRETATION!! Interpretations are subjective, and maybe truth to the men who wrote them, but certainly not for the WHOLE FREAKING WORLD!!
And yes, negative stuff happens in the world. But instead of pointing fingers (to god or the devil or who the eff ever), wouldn’t it be nicer if we would just LEARN from the experience? Have we forgotten the horrors of the first 2 world wars?
They say time heals all wounds, and perhaps that’s not such a good thing, because it causes history to repeat itself. The wounds caused by the world wars have healed up and we are apathetic to it. The elder generation still remembers, but the generation of youngsters up to my own (so that’s mine and the generations after mine) don’t really care too much anymore.
Do we really need to be shaken by horror before we’re willing to learn?
No, we can listen to god.
We CAN, but hardly anyone WILL. How can we explain to EVERYONE how important this is?
By spreading the word, like Jesus, Buddha.. all those religious leaders of ancient times.
